You shall Love God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your might, and these words which I command you this day, you shall take to heart….TEACH THEM DILIGENTLY TO YOUR CHILDREN….

Deuteronomy 6:4-9

For many reasons, Judaism has lost its passion. Study after study tells the story of a hemorrhaging from traditional religious affiliation on all fronts. Here at the Community, we are completely dedicated to reversing this trend and bringing the spiritual discipline that is Judaism back into the lives of our members with vibrancy.

There is no more meaningful expression of life, gratitude, God and goodness to be found. We hold the keys through our beautiful Jewish Heritage to unlocking a way of life that taps into the deepest most spiritual, most challenging, most relevant and most passionate ways to craft a life.

Our school will proudly hold up this flag as its goal, to bring life and new breath into the heart and soul of our community and that begins with the children.

Our Vision: The goal of the Shulhouse will be to make passionate Jewish life an integral part of our B’nai Israel families experience of Judaism.

Our Mission: We want every member of the Community from the very youngest to the most seasoned, to experience and engage their Jewish lives through an authentic, rich and STICK TO YOUR BONES Judaism.

For most of our families, a rich Jewish life is something of the past, yet the powerful benefits of affiliation to a religious community are proven, beyond a shadow of a doubt, to substantially impact the quality of life in numerous positive ways. Studies today are very clear about the overall uplifting effects that result when one belongs to a faith community that holds itself to moral, ethical and loving standards.

The forging of friendships in such a community flourish as second families and last lifetimes.

It is my personal goal to create an environment for our school that mimics the rhythm and motion of a passionate Jewish life. The goal is for our children and their parents to LIVE Judaism rather than just learn about Judaism.

We know that Jewish culture is transmitted through the experience of belonging, of Shabbat, of Torah, of Tikkun Olam and of Tefillah. The goal of the school’s philosophy will be to make these ideas a deep seeded part of our community’s heart and soul. We will make DOING JEWISH a natural part of our selves so that living Jewishly, celebrating Jewishly and lifelong learning will become an integral part of our everyday lives. We will know what it means to be Jewish.

Our parents are expected to be a part of our Jewish journey here at the school and that can take on many shapes and forms. Our parents are the backbone of the school, if they love our school, so will their children. Ultimately, whatever the parents value is what the children will value. We hope that it is B’nai Israel congregation, for we value you.
