Join us for our yearly visit to the life and death of Yosel as he shares with us the last few hours of his life before his life ended under the collapse of the Warsaw Ghetto. Let us visit once again with Yosel and honor the memory of the 6 million.

Ta Shamah - Come Learn!

Thursday May 16th- Ta Shmah, come learn. 2:30 at the Starbucks Community Room. Our new series will be blending everything together, whatever it is you hunger to know, that’s where we will go! If you have a question for your Rabbi about anything Jewish. Bring it to class and let’s begin a dialog. Ta Shema means “Come learn.” It is the pastime of the Jewish people. Expanding the parameters of the mind, spirit and soul are all valued by our sacred tradition. What do you want to know? Let’s talk about it!

Musical Shabbat & Oneg

Friday May 17th Musical Shabbat at Or Atid and a special evening to dedicate the new Ner Tamid! 6pm, Come hear David and Lena play their beautiful music and let’s celebrate the acquisition of our new Ner Tamid. We will be having a little celebratory Oneg in the courtyard after services so if everyone brings a treat,  some cookies, cakes, drinks, we will celebrate together. Comedy Night!

On Saturday the 18th of May, Mitch Oppenheim and Dr Corrine Belsky will be hosting an evening of wine tasting and Comedy! Laughter is the best medicine for everything that ails the human spirit so let’s laugh together and enjoy the simple blessings of life. The time will be from 5 to 8pm and will be held at the Third Shot Cafe, which is being rented for the occasion. Our MC will be the wonderfully funny and kind Mitch Oppenheim, (how entertaining is that?) you won’t want to miss this evening. Please let Mitch or Rabbi Julie know if you intend to join us. Let’s head to the Cottonwood Patch for outdoor shabbat services. We meet at the parking lot behind the Dog Park on Willow Lake at 5:30. It’s a 5-minute walk to the Cottonwood patch. This is a traditional Springtime or Atid event. Services in the beautiful Cottonwood trees. Please join us!

Podcast Brunch

Sunday February 18th- The Makeup gathering for the PODCAST/POTLUCK. We will be listening together to a podcast entitled, Making Sense by Sam Harris. It is an enlightening look at what’s happening in the world today with Hamas and their targeting of the Jews as the enemy of the world. This is open to everyone, just bring a contribution for the brunch. This is our redo after the snow cancelled us last month. Please let Rabbi know if you are coming.

Musical Shabbat Services

Come and enjoy our wonderful musical duo, Lena on piano and David on guitar. FOLLOWED BY, a Potluck Shabbat dinner in the Unity Social Hall downstairs. This will be sponsored by the wonderful Shara and Paul Beck, in honor of Paul’s, 85th Birthday. He would prefer we ignored the day but that’s not our style here at Or Atid. This is the best reason to celebrate, Paul’s 85th birthday!!! And I can tell you, he has been a blessing to this world every single second of those 85 years!!!

Please call Rabbi Julie to coordinate your Potluck contribution. This will be a dairy meal, i.e, vege lasagna, hot pasta dishes, pizzas, salads, garlic bread and fruit salad. Let’s all come together for this wonderful evening of music, prayer and celebration!

By fcacing that truth head on, we are given the opportunity to wrestle, question and try to make sense of our lives in light of our inevitable deaths.
